DATE: JUNE 25, 2020 11:00AM
The purpose of this announcement is to let you know how we are making arrangements and implementing strategic plans for when we re-open. A date for re-opening has not been provided to us, but we’ve taken great measures to make sure we have a strong plan in place when it’s time to resume services. Our team meets weekly to make sure we are not only providing consistent remote services and making sure we are up to date on all health and safety requirements but we’re also constantly looking at innovative ways to support our clients. We believe that this is a monumental time to come together like never before to evolve and enhance the way in which we provide services. That said, we want to reassure you that upon your return, we have implemented several procedures to keep everyone’s health and safety our number one priority.

The following is a comprehensive list of requirements that all participants and team members will be asked to adhere to when we reopen. This list is based on the health and safety requirements provided by our state Health Officials.  In addition, our company has taken additional precautions and made significant investments in PPE supplies and our own governing policies and practices have been added below as well for your safety.

All participants and staff will be asked a series of screening questions every day before they are allowed to start work or attend the program. If an individual is having difficulty comprehending the questions the staff will articulate the question using suitable language so that each individual understands what they are being asked and can provide accurate answers. All clients will be asked the following screening questions:

  1. Have you or anyone in your household had any of the following symptoms sore throat, cough, chills, body aches for unknown reasons, shortness of breath for unknown reasons, loss of smell, loss of taste, fever at or greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit?
  2. Do you have any reason to believe you or anyone in your household has been exposed to or acquired COVID-19?
  3. To the best of your knowledge have you been in close contact with any individual who tested positive for COVID-19?

If the staff or individual has answered yes to any of these questions, they will be required to stay home. If the staff or individual answers no to all of the questions their temperature will be taken with one of our touchless thermometers. If their temperature is 100 or above, they will need to remain home. If their temperature is below, 100 they will be approved to receive services for the day.

Individuals and staff will be required to wear a mask or face shield while in the community, anytime they are less than 6 feet away from another person, and when they are in the car. No exceptions.

Individuals and staff will be required to wash hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Individuals and staff cannot attend the program if they have any cold or flu symptoms which include fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing or sneezing, or have had a fever in the last 24 hours.

All staff will be required to intensify cleaning and disinfection efforts. Staff will be responsible to routinely clean, sanitize and disinfect surfaces and objects that are frequently touched.

All big events have been canceled or postponed.

All groups will have their own schedule. Group members will not share items such as personal items, pens, pencils, utensils, and each group member will have their own supplies for special projects. All items that have been touched will be immediately cleaned and disinfected using an appropriate cleaning solution.

Please note, this list is subject to change. But rest assured, when laws and health and safety requirements change our company will make swift changes to make sure our policies mirror all current regulations. Staying current and compliant is extremely important to us.

Should you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact us. We value your input. We are a team and we’re all in this together.

Thank You,

The L.I.F.E. Leadership Team

  1. Day program services were put on pause due to COVID19.
  2. Tailored Day Services & Independent Living Services: 100% Remote.

Effective immediately, California Governor Newsom has issued a 'stay at home' order. According to the state’s instructions on the order, everyone is required to stay home except to get food, care for a relative or friend or get necessary health care.

In order to keep everyone safe and follow the government ordinance, team members are not permitted to leave their dwelling place to provide Day Program,  ILS or Tailored Day Services. Services for ILS and TD can be provided remotely (phone, skpe, facetime, etc.) as long as the individual you're providing services to agrees to move forward with remote support.
